    Hiya,

Greetings and thanks for posting on the forums.

To help you better, I would request you to keep the questions on different themes on different threads.

    1. (Not sure if Blogs MU is the correct choice in the installed product section of this form)
    2. I do not see any section that has instructions or that allows for editing the RSS in the theme anywhere.

As you asking about editing the RSS feed or the RSS feed link ?

The feeds are appearing fine if I am subscribing to them via my google reader app.

Please advise what you are trying to do so that I can guide you in the right direction.

    Cheers, PC

    Pranaya Chaudhary ,

Thank you for taking the time to help out. First of all, I'd like to apologize if I am posting in the wrong place, (hence the disclaimer added to my original post. : )

I am very new to this end of the web. I always had employees that did this stuff for me, and now I find myself in a very humble position of starting from scratch and taking crash courses in Everything on the fly, just to make things happen. I always had much respect to programmers/developers etc, but now that respect is on a Whole New Level!!!

OK, as far as my RSS feed question. Everyone that I asked to click on the my RSS link had the same result as me

"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." followed by all the code that I pasted in the box above.

Is there some common knowledge out there that should be posted near my RSS feed so people can subscribe to the Google reader you told me about in order to receive my feed? If so, I am really lost, because when I click on any other RSS feed I can see what is intended instead of an error message.
[UPDATE] Just remembered that I am usually browsing with Firefox. I just used Firefox and clicked on my RSS and it gave me the options to subscribe. (sigh)

So what do I have to add so that everyone else is offered the option to subscribe?

    Thanks,
    DP

    Hiya,

    Thanks for posting back

Yes, that is what happens in chrome as it does not have a RSS subscribe widget included in it. (Perhaps it will be a nice feature request to make to Google :stuck_out_tongue: lol)

    Firefox already has that integration.

So not only for your site, but also for our site, chrome will present raw data for RSS feeds. You can look at : https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/feed/ and it's the same result.

Is there some common knowledge out there that should be posted near my RSS feed so people can subscribe to the Google reader you told me about in order to receive my feed? If so, I am really lost, because when I click on any other RSS feed I can see what is intended instead of an error message.

So what do I have to add so that everyone else is offered the option to subscribe?

    Two solutions

1: Provide a link in your site menu which will tell people how to subscribe to a feed. (Make sure that the link opens in a new window) Example link : http://rss-tutorial.com/rss-how-to-subscribe-to-feeds.htm

2: If you don't' wanna get into RSS, you can use the https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/subscribe-by-email/ widget where people can directly subscribe to the updates via email.

    3: You can use a plugin like : http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe-connect-follow-widget/

I hope that helps. Please feel free to ask if you have more questions on the same.

    Cheers
    PC
