TinyMCE Advanced Plugin - Resize Tables

Is there a way to resize tables when using the TinyMCE advanced plugin? I love all the other features that it offers but wish I could click and drag the cell borders to make them larger or smaller.

I know js and css if there is a way to do it in code.

    susanshrop,

Hi and Welcome to WPMU forums

I'm not quite sure what plugin you're referring to and it can be very tricky to troubleshoot third party plugins, but I will see if we can get you fixed up

My suggestion would be to use an inspection tool like Firebug for Firefox and find the css line that controls the way the table is displayed. Then you can change it directly.

Please let me know if this works for you!

    Best,

    Kimberly

    Hi Kimberly
I am actually looking for a way to resize tables right in the content editor of WordPress. Right now I can only make the table larger or smaller but cannot change the size of the columns. I would like to be able to click and drag the columns to resize them as well.

    Hi susanshrop

Ive installed this a couple of times, I think once for my Dad and he didnt like the trables it spewed out so I ended up installing Easy Table Creator for him and he liked it.

If you move to the "code" view when you are editing do you see the widths of the tables and columns etc in there? If so play about with them to get your desired effect. Also perhaps try another plugin if you are unhappy with the tables in Advanced Tinymce. I can confirm however that you cant drag widths on Easy Table Creator either but the code is created and can be edited in code view. It does seem to auto adjust to the page quite well though.

    Hope that helps

    susanshrop,

You can use the plugin editor in Wordpress to edit any of your plugins, including the style.css

You just need to identify which lines of code refer to the tables and adjust accordingly

@ThePath also made a great suggestion.

    Hi Kimberly
I just decided to just give the column % sizes. So if I want them to be evenly distributed I just give each of the two column 50% widths. That seems to work for what I needed.

I will need this for client as well so I don't want to do anything "style" wise that might be undone with an update of the plugin. I had just hoped maybe there was a plugin out there that allowed the click and drag re-size.

Thank you for all your help.

    Thanks
    Susan
