Twitter Tools borks with Multi-DB

Does anyone know what I need to modify in Alex King's Twitter Tools plugin to make it play nicely with Multi-DB? Out of the box, it seems to get confused about which database has the table it tries to write cached tweets into. Lots of MySQL errors thrown as a result, and no tweets displayed in the sidebar widget or daily/weekly posts.

I was a bit nervous about rolling out Multi-DB because it's non standard - but this is the first plugin that's appeared to bork on it. I know this isn't a Multi-DB question, but there's no way Alex King is going to know how to modify his plugin to work under a non-standard database system.

Any ideas? Code snippets? M to RTF?
