Ultimate Branding Customisation

Hi,

I'm new to CSS and I'm not sure how to go about customising the top admin bar. I would like to remove these menus: http://take.ms/gpxUO and also do this: http://take.ms/JTy1q

Also, despite having the Custom Dashboard Welcome message enabled it's not showing in the widgets section in the dashboard. Any ideas?

    Hi Mark,

    For removing menus, you have to add this code:

    #wp-admin-bar-menu-toggle,
    #wp-admin-bar-wp-logo,
    #wp-admin-bar-comments,
    #wp-admin-bar-new-content,
    #wp-admin-bar-top-secondary {display: none;}

    display: none; means we hide element. The #wp-admin-bar-menu-toggle,
    #wp-admin-bar-wp-logo (and so on) are the ID of those elements you want to hide.
    Firefox and Chrome have great developer tools for inspecting code on websites. This is instruction how to open it and use it in Firefox https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Page_Inspector/How_to/Open_the_Inspector - with that kinds of changes this tools is very handy.

    Also, despite having the Custom Dashboard Welcome message enabled it's not showing in the widgets section in the dashboard. Any ideas?

    Yes. You have to turn it on in Screen Options when you are in Dashboard. Screen Options is on the right top side of Dashboard.

    Please, let me know how this works for you.

    kind regards,
    Kasia
