    Hey Louis Akporiaye,

Hope you're doing well today

Ultimate Branding Text Change module uses theme/plugin translatable strings in order to change the text, and since these themes have links in footer it's bit different to translate.

For example, in Alante theme the translatable string looks like this:
Developed by %1$s. Powered by %2$s.
However since this is placed inside input field we also need to escape special characters in order to point to it exactly, so in Ultimate Branding you will need to add this as text to replace:
Developed by \%1\$s. Powered by \%2\$s.
After that enter your new text and that should do the trick, here's an example from my test installation:

For BasePress you will need to use this as text to replace:
    \%1\$s designed by \%2\$s

Our developers are looking into improving this in future and remove need for escaping special characters.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

    Hi Louis,

Issue with links is also something that we're looking to improve since you need to use HTML in order to add URL.

At this moment only workaround is to replace /wp-content/plugins/ultimate-branding/ultimate-branding-files/modules/site-wide-text-change.php with the attached file and then use this HTML as the text you want to have in footer:
    Powered By <a href="https://devintegrated.com/">Devintegrated.com</a>

Please note that this is not official patch and if complete fix for this is not included in next release you will need to apply this file again.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

    Hi Louis,

Can you tell me which subsite is in question here, where are you trying to add Powered By Devintegrated.com?

Also, in Ultimate Branding Text Change module I don't see any text change that uses html link as I suggested in my previous comment, is this the one you're using for this change:

    Hi Louis,

Thanks for that, I can see what the issue is now, you are using BasePress theme on that subsite and I was testing the patch with Alante theme on my end so I didn't see it there.

This is due to BasePress theme as it doesn't allow HTML rendering from this input field and that's why it shows plain text.

I'm afraid that this can't be changed without modifying actual theme files in order to change this beavior :slight_frown:

I will include this in the report about the special characters so devs can check if there's anything we can do from our end when the theme is doing this.

    Best regards,
    Predrag
