Unable to display RSS feed using Autoblog on Mainsite

Mainsite URL: http://beautyugly.com/
Sub-site URL 1: http://beautyugly.com/active/
Sub-site URL 2: http://beautyugly.com/actor/

The featured image assigned to the post displays on the sub-site but not on the mainsite and I've tried all of the options under Featured Image Import.
I have the following add-ons enabled:
Append text to post
Featured Image Import
Image Import
Open links in popup
Post formats addon
Twitter Add-on
Use External Permalinks
Youtube Feed Import

The themes are identical interms of features activated so I've just about ruled out there being a configuration difference with the themes.

Remote access enabled should someone needs it.

Any responses appreciated

    Hello nusolutions,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

The RSS feed automatically generated by WordPress doesn't include images by default and that's why Autoblog doesn't fetch them. In order to solve this you would want to put images into feeds first.

One of these plugins should help in this case:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/featured-images-for-rss-feeds/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/featured-image-in-rss-feed/

Once the images are added to the feeds, Autoblog should automatically pick them up (though it won't do this for posts that are already fetched but for those that will come only). You may need to tweak Autoblog feeds' Featured Image settings again but it should fix the issue.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Well that sucks! :blowfish: and it's confusing as I thought the purpose of the options listed under Featured Image Reporting was to handle adding an image:

    Don't import featured image
Use media:thumbnail tag of a feed item
Use enclosure tag of a feed item
Find the first image within content of a feed item
Find the last image within content of a feed item

Shouldn't one of the last four (4) items ensure an image is appended to the post? Just asking. Push come to shove I can do as I've in testing which is to use the Default thumbnail image option also listed under Featured Image Reporting.

    Thanks

    Hello nusolutions!

I can see you point however I think I owe you some better explanation.

The "Autoblog" plugin is not creating any feeds. It's also not "scraping websites". It does read the feed that is provided to it, format them to be "compatible" with WordPress and posts. It can only use the data that is included in the feed.

Feeds generated by WordPress does not include information about featured images. This is the WordPress issue than and not Autoblog's issue. These options that you mentioned are there because there's no single, solid RSS format standard and various feeds - if they contain image information, which WordPress by default doesn't include - may be using different standards.

The solution that I suggested previously should fix the WP issue by putting information about the featured image to the feed. Once it is in the feed, the Autoblog should be able to fetch and use it. I hope that makes sense

    Best regards,
    Adam
