Upfront: Export/import content

Hi,

I've created design using Upfront and Fixer theme at my localhost. I was wondering is it possible to export content from that localhost site to my live site? Regular WP export doesn't work.

How to export Upfront theme content?

    Hey Riku,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

I think it's worth explaining that the "content" and "design" (or as you call it "Upfront theme content") are to separate things. This might be a little confusing as with Upfront front-end editor the border between content and design gets somewhat blurry

That said, if you create a post via Upfront front end editor, this post will be exported/imported with a regular WP import/export tool, just like any other content

The theme and its setting will not, furthermore - copying the theme's folder via FTP won't work either.

I think there are two options here:

    1. Assuming that you've created your site on localhost and then just want to "go live", you may want to follow the steps to move/copy WordPress as described here:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-safely-move-wordpress/

    2. You may want to give our Snapshot plugin a try. Setting this up on both sites should allow you to take a full backup of the original site and then upload it to a target site and deploy, however there might be some minor tweaks (most likely CSS etc) needed afterwards.

Having said all this, I'm moving this thread to our "Features and Feedback" forum. I agree that the "export/import" option for Upfront's settings/layouts would be great so hopefully enough members of our community will support this idea to encourage our developers to include it in one of the future releases!

    Cheers,
    Adam
