Upgrading Lite to Pro procedure – Membership


I see there is conflicting advice on the support forum regarding the procedure for upgrading from Membership Lite to Pro.

Deactivating the Membership plugin (as one thread suggests) and uploading the zip file (add new plugin) tells me that the directory suggests.

On the other hand, another thread explains to deactivate *and* delete the plugin, then upload the Pro version (as a zip file, as in add new plugin [of interest, I could also FTP it]).

I guess I try method #2, yes?
