user role - Multisite - Easy blogging

Multisite..
Default no role for username only..

As per many forum questions.
Installed "userrole" plugin.
Created role for user only
However "easy blogging" appears to ignore and still shows standard WP dashboard with no logout option..

    Hey there be,

Greetings and thanks for posting on the forums.

I am sorry but I could not understand your issue. Perhaps some more elaborative statements would help me get the issue better and in turn get this resolved for you

    Multisite..
Default no role for username only..

Do you mean that your new users are not assigned with any role ? Role is blank for them ?

Is that for any username signups or everyone including the subsite admins ?

Please advise so that I can assist accordingly !

    Cheers

    Hi @PC

Yes - there is no role by default for Multisite
    USERNAME only option on signup..
This in turn makes users go by default to the WP admin area to allow PROFILE changes..

Was suggested we try User role plugin..
Assigned a userrole but stil goes to WP ADMIN as screen above..

We need the default USERNAME only option
To allow users to see a forced EASYBLOGGING admin panel.

At this point all options we have tried disregard this and give the backend WP admin panel with no logout option also meaning the user is trapped in the backend..

    Hey there @be

We need the default USERNAME only option
To allow users to see a forced EASYBLOGGING admin panel.

If you only want username to be the only option while registration then you would need to disabled site registration under Network admin >> Settings >> Only user accounts can be registered.

Can you kindly elaborate on what you exactly need !

Do you want the users not to be able to register new sites ? or you want the Easy mode to be forced on all new sites ?

    Please advise.

    Cheers

    Thanks again @PC

    Mulitsite (no buddypress) Marketpress

Global site - for control of all subsites..

Subsites - So each new store owner register as ADMIN..

Marketpress - users need to be registered.. by default the USERS become USERNAME only..

It is this USERNAME only that we are having the issue with..
It is not assigned a ROLE.. therefore it goes straight to the WP admin dashboard..to edit profile..

    RESULT we are seeking is
Multisite - STORE OWNERS to be able to signup as owners ADMIN..
USERS - to be assigned a role so the "force easy blogging mode" will apply.

    Hope that makes more sense.

    hmm, that is strange.

I will need to dive into your site settings to see why the subsite admins are not being given a role.

    Perhaps a plugin conflict ?

Can you please check for a plugin conflict using the attached screenshot

    ?

If that does not work, Can you please send me your login details via our secure contact form

    How have you resolved this?

I am also having this issue today, during login tests for new members (not new shop merchants).

Can login.php be updated to assign a role/permissions (i.e. subscriber) to each new member account?
Can easy blogging be updated to treat each user as a i.e. subscriber so it will display when forced.

I will try multisite-user-management plugin in a bit.

    Thanks.

    @MoniQ
We did a workaround using "User role editor"
and another plugin using forms (the form they fill in adds them as a user..) and bypassing the user seen WP register type scenarios.

Multi site user management was not so helpful for us as it requires a manual fix after every new site is created..

Still not ideal and we are in the final stages of having the best option to go with.
