1) How can I remove “created by admin”

2) Why doesn’t this page show anything: http://www.lucyhamel.com/events?

3) From the top nav bar, can I have a heading entitled “events” that lists the most current and recent events that are happening?

    Greetings kristamackinnon,

Thank you for these great questions and a significant items to bring up.

    1) How can I remove “created by admin”

Can you please post a screen shot showing where you want this removed from?

    2) Why doesn’t this page show anything: http://www.lucyhamel.com/events?

When trying to visit this page http://www.lucyhamel.com/events I am just redirected back to the home page never getting to view the events page.

Have you disabled the plugin by any chance?

    3) From the top nav bar, can I have a heading entitled “events” that lists the most current and recent events that are happening?

Absolutely you can have a menu items that says Events or upcoming events etc. which is probably added using the “Menu” option in the theme.

Please advise regarding the name of theme you are using and items 1 and 2 above.

    Cheers, Joe

I am using the genesis theme framework, and the child theme manhattan by studiopress.

    1) “Created by admin” shows up at the top of every blog post beside the option to leave a comment. Under the heading “stories” I have the blog posts, and they have both “created by admin” and “comments” at the top of each post. Comments are fine, but I don’t want it to say “created by admin” anywhere as it is irrelevant since I am the only one updating the site ever.

    2) The plugin is active. In fact, I have an event made, but don’t know how to get it into the navigational structure of the website anywhere except to hyperlink to it, and I don’t see the point in doing that. This is the event: http://lucyhamel.com/events/2013/02/full-moon-full-breath-retreat/

    3) I’d like to have “EVents” be a heading, and it can list upcoming events, as well as current ongoing events, and past events using this plugin. Not sure it is possible. I tried adding it to the menu through the theme menu options, but it wasn’t listed as an option, it only offered me “pages” as options to be on the top nav bar.

More help is appreciated if possible, thanks and sorry for my delayed response.

    Greetings kristamackinnon,

Thank you for your additional input, it is greatly appreciated.

I am using the genesis theme framework, and the child theme manhattan by studiopress.

Personally I do not have any framework themes and therefore I cannot do the digging for you to let you know how to fix some of the none WPMU Dev issues or more accurately issues that I do not have the items to dig into.

In this case, I would search through the theme files using a source code search software, something like Dreamweaver, to find the instances of “Created by” and remove them.

That would solve this issue in minutes.

From my understanding of frameworks you have to in fact somehow incorporate this into the framework. This is why I personally do not use frameworks.

Understood and further I do not know why the normal link to the events listing is not working. i.e. http://lucyhamel.com/events/

Is this indeed your slug for events as designated in the events plugin settings?

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

    Greetings bmwijaya,

Thank you for your input here, it is greatly appreciated.

It will be interesting to find out if this changes text outside the admin area.

I have not had much time to play with this particular plugin though I had messed around a lot with the Custom Admin Text plugin.

If your suggestion indeed works I am extremely thankful and it goes to show I learn something new every day.

Looking forward to hearing from kristamackinnon about her results trying this.

    Cheers, Joe

@bmwijaya – thanks for your suggestion. Oddly, it didn’t work for me. I wonder if the problems i am having are a result of using the genesis framework and a child theme?

@ timothy – yes, this is the problem I am having. I expect to see a list of “events” when I click here: http://lucyhamel.com/events/ but it doesn’t work. I did check if I have the slug correct in the settings, and the slug is listed as “Events” in the settings, so I am not sure why it isn’t working for me.

HI, I am not sure about protocol here, if I should start a new thread of do this here.

I have another question about the Events + Plugin.

Can I enter events with dates that have already passed for historical purposes? The admin settings only let me enter present date, and future dates.

    Hiya,

Can I enter events with dates that have already passed for historical purposes?

Currently you cannot. We could look into adding a setting to disable the check for present or future dates though. Wonder how many members are looking for this…

I just ran a test with the events plugin and a Genesis child theme and everything showed up correctly. Events display on the calendar template on your site. I don’t see any actual events cause there aren’t any for August, but if you look at a month where there are events, things look good:

Or did I miss something here? Let us know. Thanks!
