Using Fundraising with WYNN theme

We are attempting to use Fundraising in the WYNN theme and it is obviously not a problem, but what we want to do is not so straight forward to understand how to accomplish.

We wanted to use as the page to display the featured image from each fundraiser, and the current stats below the image.

We wanted a click on the featured image on that page to take them to the portfolio for that fundraiser and have the content from the fundraiser show when we click on the three bars on the top right.

As far as I can tell to accomplish this we need to make a connection between portfolio id and fundraiser id.

We love the widget and put it in the left below the menu, but would like it to not be visible unless we are on a specific fundraiser page..

We appreciate any help or suggestions or pointers you have for us!

Thank you

    Hi @john,

Do you mean you want the fundraiser widget to display a specific fundraiser depending on what portfolio item page you are viewing?

You would need to create some kind of relationships table in the DB, possibly 2 columns

    portfolio_id, fundraiser_id

Then add the id's in each.

Then you would need to customize the widget and alter the query to check the relationships table you created to cross reference the ID's. Not sure exactly on that. Let me just ask one of our developers to see if he can come up with a solution for this.

    Hope this helps

Hello there John, I hope you're well today!

I tried finding a solution to your issue and I think I found something that will do what you want....

Step 1: Install and activate this plugin:

Step 2: create new sidebars using the above plugin that will be used instead of the default sidebar

Step 3: When you edit a portfolio, you should see a new metabox that will allow you to "assign" a sidebar to it (see attached screenshot 1)

Step 4: Add a new "Fundraising Panel" widget to your newly-created sidebar and set the "Display a specific fundraiser" option to yes, selecting the fundraiser you want to display below (see screenshot 2).

Now, when your users see portfolio X, the custom sidebar will be displayed there, and it will be set to display Funder Y.

You can create as many custom sidebars as you wish, so you can assign a different sidebar to each portfolio and this way "link" fundraisers to portfolios.

    I hope that helps!

This is tricky... I see what you mean!

The problem is that the theme you're using uses ajax to load the posts and only refreshes the content of the page, completely bypassing re-loading the sidebars.
It does that because it assumes that your sidebar will be the same throughout the site, which is not what you're doing.
I'm afraid we can't do anything for that... But I'm sure the theme developer will be able to help you out on this one!
