Using WPMUDEV plugins with Upfront

I'm seriously trying out Upfront to find out if I can start using it as the preferred theme framework for all my future projects. While I like the true drag and drop nature, I find the lack of content elements disturbing.

For example, take a look at this page: https://bda-e.com/xt-flex/ — see the video icon at the top that loads video in modal window. Am I able to achieve the same using Upfront? How?

Maybe the answer is by using 3rd party plugins (or those by WPMUDEV), which leads to my next question: How? Since we can't edit content using WordPress editor, how do we insert shortcode then?

    Hi Dean Loh ,

    Hope you're doing well today!

    Regarding to your questions:

    1) Upfront allows you to add a video (Youtube, Vimeo or Wistia) as a region background. It will load directly in the region, will not load in a modal box.

    To do that you need to:

    1.1) click "Edit the region" (pencil icon) and then click in region settings (green wheel icon);

    1.2) In the "Background Type" choose "Video" and add the URL.

    2) If you want to open a video in a modal box, you can add a text element (to use icons) or an "image" element and link it to a "lightbox". Check this video with a simple example:

    3) You can add shortcodes inside the Upfront editor, you just need to add a text element and paste the shortcode inside the text content.

    I hope this information has been helpful. If I can help you in this or other questions, please let me know!

    Cheers, Luís
