want to change the background to a full screen image

Hi folks

I have been looking through the may different ways described on how to change the background image in bp-social theme, now I can't see the woods for the trees.

I have activated the child theme and tried a few css classes, nothing seemed to work,

so, I read, do not edit anything but child theme, ok, clear, then i read this:
https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-do-i-change-the-background-of-the-site

Can someone give me a concise very clear explanation on what where and how I can make the background of bd-social a full screen image please?

Thanks guys.

    Ari, there is nothing in action, we have not changed anything yet

    all there is to see is a plain old bp-social theme, when we know which one of the oh, so many ways explained in threads here is the correct one, then and only then, shall we go messing around in either

    1. the newly activated child theme css file or
    2. the newly installed plugin "My Custom CSS"

    we are asking how to do this, we have done nothing yet as we have no instructions :slight_smile:

    PS:And this still sys I am a monthly member, I am a gold member, can you fix that too please :slight_smile:

    @mpv the reason I asked for a link to your website was to save some time.
    I created a new WordPress installation on my localhost and installed the theme.
    You can install the plugin I mentioned earlier and enter this CSS in it:

    html {
      background: url("http://wallpoper.com/images/00/31/33/51/black-background_00313351.jpg");
      background-size: cover;
      background-attachment:fixed;
    }

    Of course replace the URL I entered above with the background of your choice.

    I hope that helps...

    Cheers,
    Ari.

    Hi Ari, great suff, here is the link

    http://aeyrand.com

    PC and Timothy have all the log in details and ftp details.

    one thing we are experiencing with this is the following:

    1. on FF, Chrome and S all good
    2a. on IE, one pc in one location has all page elements and no BG
    b. another pc in another location has BG but no page elements.

    I would like to thank you for this, it has gotten us on the right track the Custom css plug in is a lot easier to mess around with than child, you are a rock star

    Thanks

    Unfortunately I'm working on a linux (Ubuntu) machine so I only have access to Chrome and FF... I can't test this on IE!
    Do these PCs have different versions of IE?

    I'm glad you liked the plugin... it's a lot easier, faster and in most cases performs better than using a child theme!

    Cheers,
    Ari.
