Warning: Illegal string offset 'imgurl'

I am receiving this error “Warning: Illegal string offset ‘imgurl’ in /home/ricmei1/dynamicperformanceauto.com/wp-content/themes/spacing/footer.php on line 87” in my theme. This theme/template is used by several businesses with the same plugins but not all of them are getting this error (scandinavianservice.com). I can’t seem to figure out why. Can someone help me? Thank you!

    Hi, Jean!

That’s definitely curious! You mention the theme works on some sites, but not others, although the sites have the same plugins. Are there any other differences between sites that you can notice? Are they on the same host? Are all the plugins, themes, and WordPress core updated on each site?

I tried to take a look, but it seems your site access is blocked for visitors, so I was only able to see the login page. Is there a page on a site where this is failing that I can have access to, so I can investigate more closely? Spacing isn’t one of our themes, and it’s not one I’m personally familiar with, so I’m unable to try to reproduce what you’re seeing on my own sites, a closer look at yours might be very helpful. Thanks!

If that’s not an option, would you mind enabling support access for one of the sites where it’s showing you this error? If this is ok, just grant me temporary admin access to your site by clicking “Grant Access” button in the WPMU DEV Dashboard Settings from the following path and reply on this thread after granting it?

Admin -> WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access Tab

If you have not installed WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin yet, kindly do that here : https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wpmu-dev-dashboard/ and then allow access as per the above process.

Take care, and thanks for your question!

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for taking a look. I have granted access at two sites that are very similar and have the same hosting (http://www.keiths-automotive.com and http://www.dynamicperformanceauto.com) to see if you can shed any light on this. The only difference is the demand force plugin but I had the problem before I even installed that. It is hit or miss. I have about 20 if these sites and some set up without a hitch and some get this issue. I can’t figure it out…

    Hi Michelle,

I just installed another of these sites and received the same error but it is on a different host. I wish I knew what is causing it! I extended the access so you will have time to take a look at it. Please keep me posted. Thank you.

    Hi there, Jean!

I’m looking at all three sites listed here, and I’m not seeing there error on any site.

Did you by chance have WP_DEBUG enabled on the sites where you were seeing the errors, but not on the sites where you weren’t? I’m thinking this might actually be the case here. When you’re seeing the errors, are they only on the admin side, or are they showing up on the front-facing pages as well?

    Thanks, Jean!

    Hi Michelle,

The error is on the site http://www.dynamicperformanceauto.com and yes it is showing up on the front-facing pages – it is at the bottom of the page by the footer. The other two are sites that do not have the error but have the same template and plugins. Also the error shows up upon the setup before even adding any content. So I’m not sure what is causing it. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. It isn’t consistent. I also checked the config files and I do not have WP_DEBUG enabled on any of these sites. Thanks.

Hey @jean, my apologies for the delay here!

In regards to the error you’ve been seeing here, it seems like it might be host related, based on this comment over on the support section for your theme:

    http://themeforest.net/item/spacing-responsive-minimal-bold-wp-theme/2594249/comments?page=26#comment_7513804

Now, the line mentioned there is a different one from the one you mentioned, but I’d want to try reaching out to them, as they should have the fix for this here.

Let me know if this helps please!

    Kind Regards,

    Michael
