We got an unexpected response from your website

I got this in two of my websites under security panel in the HUB:
We got an unexpected response from your website: "307 Temporary Redirect", and I can't update my plugins using HUB, can you help me?

    Hi Julien,

Hope you are doing good today.

This is an odd behaviour, such issue normally occurs if your site is redirecting our Hub Post requests. I tired to run a manual File Scanning in your website dashboard, under Defender Pro > File Scanning

And the issue seems to have resolved in the "Security" tab of Hub . Could you please check whether that helps with other websites too?

Regarding plugin not getting updated in Hub, I could notice the issue. Seems like it could be still related to 307 redirect, just to be sure, you are looking to make the site run in www , or without www in the main site URL?

Could you also share your sites cPanel login in here, so that we could also check for any redirects in the DB side.

You can send credentials by using our secure contact form: https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/#i-have-a-different-question

    - To Mark to my attention, the subject line should contain only: ATTN: Nithin Ramdas
    -cPanel, or PHPMyAdmin credentials (host/username/password)

    -any other relevant urls

Please do follow up in the ticket once you have sent the above credentials. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Julien,

Thanks for sending in the login credentials, I gave a closer look, and the database is intact with the correct site URLs, and I don't see any difference in there. On further testing, could notice there is a redirection when the domain is loaded with www in the URL.

I added the following inside wp-config.php:
    `define( 'NOBLOGREDIRECT', 'http://www.yourdomainURL.com' );

Which seems to have fixed the issue in the Hub now. I don't see 307 redirect anymore in "Security" tab:

Please check, and see if you have any further query regarding this. Have a great weekend ahead.

    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi Julien,

Hope you are doing good today.

I just checked your jlplugins website again in the Hub, and I don't see any issue as shared in the above screenshot.

Could you please check again, and see whether it's working fine for jlplugins website? Or it works fine for some time, and you notice the same issue again?

Please let me know if there is any steps to replicate the issue in your Hub, so that I could have a better idea.

    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hello Nithin,

Im sorry to say that nothing have changed.

I have the same issue for every domains on the hub and the steps are quite simple, I connect to the hub, slect a domain, click on security and see the error...

So I don't understand how it can work on your side.

    Sincerly
    Julien

    Hi Julien,

I could notice the issue now in your system. It's an odd behaviour. If I re-run a new scan, I could notice it's working fine.

The issue is occurring because there is a redirection in your website which is causing the 307 messages. I gave a closer look, but I'm not able to notice any redirection, unless I'm missing anything specific.

I'm bringing this into our Second Level Support(SLS) teams attention, and to see what's causing the issue in your website side.

Please do note that SLS works in many critical issue, and hence have a slow response time, we'll get back to you via the ticket once we have given a closer look.

    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi Julien,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, we did give a closer look at this, and wasn't able to notice any issues in the WordPress side. Our developer is currently giving a closer look at this to see what exact could be causing such anomalies in the Hub, I'm checking regarding the status of the issue and will keep you posted once I get further feedback asap.

Sorry for any inconvenience due to this.

    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi Julien,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We further troubleshooted the issue and such anomalies happen when the server is throwing a POST redirect, or a firewall causing such anomalies.

I can confirm there aren't any conflicts in the plugin side that could cause such issues. I'm afraid, this seems more related, and specific to your server. The issue seems to be in general with all the API call related to the specific website.

Could you please get in touch with your hosting provider, and check what exactly is causing the website to throw POST request redirect?

If your host isn't able to pinpoint anything specific, please check and confirm whether there is any Firewall(WAF) enabled in the server side, and also ask to whitelist the following IPs:

    66.135.60.59
    66.135.49.214
    66.135.60.64
    66.135.50.99
    167.99.3.51
    165.227.66.214
    45.55.78.242
    35.171.56.101
    192.241.140.159
    104.236.132.222
    192.241.148.185
    34.196.51.17
    18.204.159.253
    52.57.5.20

I hope this helps. Have a nice day ahead.

    Nithin
