We have been experiencing numerous errors with this plugin.

We have been experiencing numerous errors with this plugin. From API Heartbeat error messages and NOW Libra y Conflicts with Google Analytics plugin (Google Analytics Dashboard for WP) In activating GA we noticed slow-load issues and went to general setting and noticed message that dev says is plugin conflict . We narrowed it down to Appointments+ - WE need this resolved ASAP...the client needs the Appointment function for scheduling Domes - but the app stops working....at various times - even with the GA plugin NOT activated.

(If this screen is empty or displaying Loading the required libraries. If this results in a blank screen or a fatal error, try this solution it’s because you have a plugin conflict.)

Interesting that the message above does NOT show the site info when it was EXPRESSLY required and asked for in the submission FORM - I don't see it why is that ? The site in question is http://www.savealator.com the message I keep getting is this " There seems to be something wrong with the WP Heartbeat API state. The "Pending Appointments count notification" add-on might not work properly because of this."

Support Access has been established - NOTE: The back-end of this site is slow - it's a KNOWN issue with WP running on MS Azure and it NOT related to the reported issue.

Two issues with this plugin. 1) Occasional Heartbeat Error Messages and plugin functionality STOPS - i.e display of Calendar goes blank. De-activating and re-activating plugin works for a while. 2) Conflict with Libraries of Google Analytics Dashboard for WP, (Currently de-activated)

    Hi there @SMMstrategist

I took a look at the site. I did not seem to be able to reproduce the the conflict although the site was unbelievably slow with Google Analytics Dashboard for WP turned on.

You could take a look at this thread for more info on the heartbeat API. It points to a lack of resources on your server. The issue is not with A+ it just reports it.

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/there-seems-to-be-something-wrong-with-the-wp-heartbeat-api-state-the-pending-appointments-count-n

While having the other plugins on your site disabled (so that only Appointments+ is enabled), did you also try switching your theme to a default theme? If not, I'd want to try doing that as well, as I'm not presently able to replicate this.

Could you share the steps you take to reproduce this, just to make sure that I didn't miss a step?

    Cheers

    1. You should be looking at this when the server is under NORMAL load constraints - Mid day EST NOT late at night EST its not represntative at all.

    2. With regards to GA. Its running slow because of the conflict fromA+. The dev says Library conflict is causing the issue. As soon as I disable A+ GA works just fine.

    3. The heartbeat API error is left over from a previous bug that WPMU supposedly fixed in the most recent update in March. Thats where you need to look at.

I would like a phone number to talk to an experienced dev durring the day EST on this. The time lag on your Support is Terrible!!

  • SMMstrategist

One last item. I did the normal Plugin/Theme conflict test. Mt Theme is fine as is all the current activated plugins. The exception is Google Analytics that does not fullly load when A+ is also activated. Besides that, i still get occassional Heartbeat API errors when I am just working on post updates in the back end, even with GA deactivated. A+ will appear to run fine for a few hours then it just Stops....

    Hi there @SMMstrategist

    1. You should be looking at this when the server is under NORMAL load constraints - Mid day EST NOT late at night EST its not represntative at all.

Which clearly shows you need a better hosting plan. Any issue that can be reproduced only when there is load clearly points to resources.

    2. With regards to GA. Its running slow because of the conflict from A+. The dev says Library conflict is causing the issue. As soon as I disable A+ GA works just fine.

I can't make guarantees on this one as our plugin works just fine. The dev needs to refactor their library to mitigate the plugin conflict. That said I'll see how we can help with this after speaking to the SLS team.

I would like a phone number to talk to an experienced dev durring the day EST on this. The time lag on your Support is Terrible!!

Its less than 12 hrs since you opened this ticket and you've had multiple responses including a look into the site. As I said reproducing this is not simple.

As for the call we don't have the resources for this. I will however ask the SLS team who usually handle complex issues take a look at this for you.

Please note their response time may be longer as they're really busy.

Im just thinking ahead here, in case we need it for some tests we need not get into another back and forth cycle.

    Can you please send in

    Subject: "Attn: Jude Rosario"
    - WordPress super admin/ admin username + password
    - FTP credentials (host/username/password)
    - cPanel details
    - phpMyAdmin details ( To check database )

Accessing this site is different from any you have ever experienced. There is NO C-Panel and
I am reluctant to provide access unless you have someone on the team that is experienced working with/on a MS Azure back-end. It's to dangerous too this client for me to allow access as this also allows access to other apps he has running on that server that vital to his business.

I will say that the A+ App has STOPPED working YET AGAIN and I believe that the Heartbeat API issue is to blame here..... I would really like to discuss this via telephone and stop all this back and forth with the email....its NOT PRODUCTIVE at all.

The FACT that your asking me for MySql access shows YOU most likely DID NOT read the entirety of the problems I have described and all the more reason for a Phone Call. This is installed on MS Azure that uses ClearDB NOT MySql.......

  • Jude

    Hi @SMMstrategist

    1) Like I said earlier, we do not have the resources to facilitate a phone call with a developer
    2) If you cannot share access then you may need to hire a developer you can trust and get this investigated / fixed.
    3) ClearDB IS MySQL that works better on the cloud.

ClearDB is a highly available MySQL database-as-a-service that runs in multiple cloud computing as well as in hybrid cloud/datacenter environments.

So what your telling me...IS a Company that SELLS a PREMIUM SERVICE /PLUGINS etc does not have the resources to handle PHONE CALLS ? Or WPMUDEV does NOT want to ?

Email for troubleshooting is SEVERELY LIMITING. Human Dialog can often make for more prompt support than email or chat. That has been documents in NUMEROUS STUDIES. Clients pay a PREMIUM for your PLUGINS and you offer this lousy explanation for lack of SERVICE and tell me to Hire a DEV ?

Ok, please provide me with the email of of the CEO or President of WMPUDEV ...

    Hey there SMMstrategist

I'm Director of sales and support here, Jude asked me to pop in.

Really sorry to hear about the issues you're having with MS Azure and WordPress Heartbeat.

As Jude has already explained, we don't offer phone support. If we were to offer this, our membership fees would be far higher than they currently are. It's not something we do, or plan to.

Your question borders on requiring both a system admin and a developer, the going hourly rate for each of those is not cheap. Whilst we do have system admins, and developers that we consult with, we wouldn't provide telephone consultation.

Ultimately you would need to hire your own specialist for that type of service, someone that is both an expert in MS Azure and WordPress. As it's for a client, the client should be covering the costs for that kind of service.

Finally, as WordPress does not officially support MS Azure, neither do we. Whilst we'll endeavour to assist the best we can, we can't support every server setup.

I'm sorry but we won't be able to assist with this matter further, as such I'm going to close this ticket up for now

    Kind Regards.
