web site shutdown .... all plugins were deactivated

I just spent a few hours trying to figure out a problem where my web site was not working correctly.

Finally discovered that all of my plugins were deactivated!
Did Defender so that? Is there a setting to change??

    Hey John !
Hope you are having a great day!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you encountered but I'm afraid, Defender cannot and is not supposed to deactivate plugins. And neither have we received any similar reports from our members regarding Defender. So, I'm quite sure it is something else that might have caused the issue.

Were you able to reactivate all the plugins and is the site working as expected now? If yes, you could enable debugging in WordPress to try tracking the source of the issue if it shows up again. You can take a look into this handy guide to enable debugging. If the issue shows up again, please get back to us with the debug.log file generated from WordPress debug which can be found in the /wp-content directory.

We'll be looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks!
