Website Crash

Our website crashed over the weekend due to bots attacking certain pages. We didn't have the defender plugin activated at the time but have it now. We are wondering if the plugin will prevent this type of attack in the future. Additionally, to what extent do you guys provide tech support for wpmu dev customers? Would we be able to have someone from your support team take a look at the site in a similar situation and have them fix it?
