Website Is Down - Receiving 404 Error - Help ASAP

Hi there, our website is down and I'm receiving a 404 error.
I receive the same error when I try to log into the admin, can't get anywhere.
What can I do? and how can I prevent this in the future?
Thank You,
- Mark

    Hello Mark,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

It's difficult to diagnose the reason for this without any access to the site so I think let's start with trying to bring back access to the site.

Please access your site via FTP and then:

    - make sure that the content of ".htaccess" file matches the default ".htaccess" as shown here:

Depending on whether you site is a single- or multisite select the adequate .htaccess.

    - if this doesn't help please switch to "/wp-content" folder and rename the "plugins" folder to e.g. "" then try accessing your site's dashboard again (even if front-end still returns 404 error).

Let me know please about the result.

Thank you very much for the response. I was able to figure it out. My IP Address was incorrect within the DNS Zone file in my host GoDaddy. There was also an incorrect CNAME that needed to be fixed. I do appreciate the response.
