What's the difference between Membership and Protected Content Plugin?

What's the difference between Membership and Protected Content Plugin? Why would I pick Membership plugin over the Protected Content one? They seem to have the same set of features and use the same set of benefit language.

    Hi, Ron!

There are a few differences between them, choosing which one you want will ultimately do what you need.

    Membership Only

    1. Invite codes - we don't yet have these added to Protected Content yet, but I think they'r'e on the list.
    2. Membership allows both negative and positive rules, along with mixed rules, which allows a little more control over some aspects of your content.
    3. More extensive documentation, and lots of forum topics.

    Protected Content Only

    1. Easier interface - Protected content has a much more intuitive user experience/interface than Membership does, I think.
    2. Better, easier control over content by post type and category.
    3. Easier to understand content protection and membership levels.
    4. Better BuddyPress integration.

    Hope this helps, Ron!
