When hummingbird

When hummingbird tests my site, I sometimes get a rating of 19 on server response time, sometimes it’s 65.

How is this rating calculated?

How can I figure out how much is server vs WordPress/plugins slowing response time down?

Is there an optimal number of plugins before WordPress starts to load slowly?

    Hi there,

Hope you are doing well today and thanks for asking! Those rating might depends on number of factors like server response, GZIP compression, browser caching etc. If you have configured them all and still getting different results then perhaps you are using shared server which delivering different performance. It might also cause by any plugin. There is no optimal number of plugins but certainly the more plugin you use, the more requests will be served through your server which will definitely affect the performance. Also a bad plugin might hurt more than a few plugins. So you can perform a plugin conflict test by disabling some plugins and running the test again.

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if I could help further from our end.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
