When sending an e-Newsletter does it use the bandwidth from your blog or e-mail server?

This maybe a daft question but I was wondering when I send out a newsletter and if it's being sent out through G-Mail does the newsletter get uploaded to the e-mail server and sent out or does it point back to my blog?

    Hi @Paul

Nope, not daft at all.

Using SMTP and Gmail's server is kind of like whitewashing your domain name so the recipients' email clients don't dump your newsletter in spam folders.

But the bandwidth used comes from your server (where your site is hosted). That's why the plugin can limit its mailing number and frequency, and so does your host most likely.

Thanks Patrick for all your help.

Out of curiosity, does ProSites give the ability to limit how many newsletters can be sent for different levels?

    for example:

    Free - 250 subscribers

    $10 a month - 500 subscribers

    $50 a month - 5000 subscribers

    best regards,
