Why doesnt the iOS or android plugins install?

I have downloaded the iOS & Android plugins. NEITHER will install. I have gone in through WP admin, added them with the upload from my computer, they fail & WP asks if I want to try again. Each time it fails. I also installed the dashboard & tried again, still it fails. having these apps was a large portion of why I rejoined. Sadly this is not impressive. Please provide the way to fix this ASAP.

Hey there, thanks for your question.

I'm sorry that you're not impress, but I think you've clearly misunderstood what they are, they are not plugins.

They are Apps, you need to build and compile them as per the indepth instructions that ship with these projects.

As noted from the project page:

Create your own custom branded WordPress Android App and publish it at the Google Play store.

Customize a white label WordPress iOS app for your own project, and then publish at the app store.

You need to unpack the downloads, then follow the indepth instructions. Compile the applications and then submit to the Apple and Google Play store.

From the usage tab of the iOS project for example:

Customizing your very own iOS app for WordPress can be a rather tricky process if you’ve never done it before. It is not your typical WordPress plug ‘n’ play type of operation.

So we’ve put this package together to make the process a whole lot easier for you. You’re welcome.

After you have joined WPMU DEV, download the package which includes the documentation and the code. Then follow the steps accordingly.

If you need any support with these Apps please feel free to open another support ticket.

    Cheers.

    Hey there.

It's not a WP Plugin as I mentioned. They function as actual apps on your phone, not from your website like a plugin would.

The documentation takes you through how to customise the App and how to brand it with your own name.

Both apps are maintained by a separate developer and support guy here. Anything you're stuck with please open a new thread for each App and issue ensuring that Android stuff goes into the Android category and iOS into the iOS category.

That way our specialists will be able to assist you further with any issues and questions you have regarding each specific app.

    Take care.
