Why would I want to limit the number of posts in the XML sitemap?

Hello. I looked over the Simple Sitemaps for Multisite usage, and it said that to edit the number of items indexed I could change the line:

var $totalposts = 25; // Number of posts to display

Why would I want to limit the number of posts indexed in the first place? I would want my site to have all the posts indexed by Google. Can someone please clarify? Thanks in advance.

    Hi @ghmaster,

    Thank you for your question.

    You should limit it to optimize resources if you have a limited resources but if you don't want to limit it and want to have all the posts indexed by Google then you can just try adding following code in wp-config.php file instead of changing plugin file.

    define('SIMPLE_SITEMAPS_POST_SOFT_LIMIT', -1);

    I have notified the plugin usage writer to add this information in the Simple Sitemaps for Multisite plugin usage page and remove old information so that plugin users will not change plugin core file and instead use the constant SIMPLE_SITEMAPS_POST_SOFT_LIMIT in wp-config.php file.

    Cheers,
