Wiki plugin and Google Maps

Hey there

It's been a while since I've used the Google Map plugin and I have to say I'm extremely impressed with the additions to the plugin.

I'm not sure whether this is by design or a bug, but the Google Maps button is missing from the visual text editor when editing a wiki in 'edit' mode. In advance mode, the Google Map button is visible. I am running the latest version of the wiki and google map plugin, as well as the latest wordpress version.

    Hey ebrown.

Just been testing this and I see what you mean.

I would suspect it is how the front end editor is being called (new function in WP) I couldn't see a reason not to include it for those with relevant access.

I'll ping the developer on this one so he is aware.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Actually, this is by design - it is happening because the plugin distinguishes between admin and public area, and loads a different set of scripts on each. Bringing maps editing interface to front end would require quite a bit of rewrite, but I do see your point with the Wiki example.

Thank NAME, for their help.
