Will Site Categories conflict with marketpress categories?

1. Will Site Categories plugin conflict with Marketpress product categories if they have the same names?

2. Several sub sites have vanished and I am trying to retrace my steps from yesterday to single out the culprit. How do I do a clean uninstall of Site Categories plugin? Deactivate didn’t fix the issue.

Thanks

    @Atlanta,

    Should not be a conflict as there are two different taxonomies. The Site Categories taxonomy is ‘bcat’. Which originally stood for ‘blog category’.

    The Site Categories plugin simply registers a new taxonomy on the primary blog. The only other things is it also sets some rewrite rules for the Landing page. See Site Categories > Settings on your primary site.

    This is the error message that I am getting (even with Site Categories deactivated)

    in /wp-includes/functions.php on line 2925 Notice: Undefined index: bcat_widgetcategories-2 in plugins/dashboard-widget-sidebar/dashboard-widget-sidebar.php on line 87

    I use http://wordpress.org/plugins/dashboard-widget-sidebar/ to display http://wordpress.org/plugins/multi-site-site-list-shortcode/ a list of all blogs. Since I installed site categories the blogs aren’t showing in the dashboard widget and the sub blogs cannot be accessed when I visit their landing pages or dashboards. I get redirected to the front page of the site.

    The only other changes that I made yesterday was to upgrade membership plugin and to hide some things with Adminimize plugin.

    When I deactivate http://wordpress.org/plugins/multi-site-site-list-shortcode/ AND Site Categories I still get the above error message. Does that mean that the problem can now be stored in the database?

    Does the error message give you any info on what the issue can be?

    Yeah, used widgets are stored even though you deactivate the plugin which supports the widget. Try reactivating the Site Categories plugin. Then go to Appearance > Widgets. You should see the Site Categories widgets used on right side listing. Delete those or move them to the bottom section for inactive widget. Then you can safely deactivate the Site Categories plugin again.
