wordpress keeps nagging to 3.0.1 although I am running 3.0.1

It feels like wp is randomly displaying that that notice. I have upgraded several times during the last 3 days and every so often it nags again :slight_frown:

any idea what could be wrong?

Did you do an automatic upgrade or manually overwrite the files?

the first ones were manual, deleting wp-admin and wp-includes and copying everything else on top of the old version.

Lately I did a couple of automatic upgrades since the manual ones didn't help but the problem still persists...

Look version.php (Forget where it is) to make sure 3.01 in there?

web/wp-includes/version.php => $wp_version = '3.0.1';

no caching involved so I have no clue what could trigger this update nag every couple of hours :slight_frown: does the state of ugradeable/not-upgradeable get saved somewhere in the DB?

You know I'm drawing a blank on this one after about 20-30 minutes looking for something. Seems like every version that comes out, folks complain about still seeing the upgrade nag but yet I can;t find a fix for it. Looking through the code is kind of hard today as I have a um, rather vulgar street preacher on the other side of the street who's been at it for a bit now. (Starbucks must love him.)

I can find the code that starts looking for updates but I;m lost after that:

Did you delete blogs.php when you went from wpmu to wp?

jepp. all done. changed the .htaccess file to point to the new ms-blogs.php ...
followed the upgrade instructions word-for-word.

now that I went checking everything, one thing stands out to me though:

in my wp-config.php I have these entries:

if I follow the link to generate new ones at: link http://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/ it only generates 4 of those keys with a 64char length, i.e.

Now shall I generate a new set of those long ones and replace my short ones? And why would the others be short?
Not sure if this is in any way related at all, I just stumbled upon it...

I wouldn't change any of that. Your users passwords include those salts and if you edit the salts, you;re going to have to get all your users to reset their passwords. And deal with all those users who have changed their email addresses but not updated them on your site.
