Wordpress Media Library not Showing Images

I uploaded images to the upload folder via cpanel file manager.
However, when I go back to WordPress media library I am not seeing these images.

    Hello sunilr

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

This is an expected and perfectly valid behavior. When you update the file to Media Library via built-in WP uploader (via your site) WordPress does a number of things with it:

    - it creates additional images of various sizes out of the original image
    - it adds information about the image to the database

That second thing is crucial here: when you upload files directly, information about them is not added to the database, therefore WordPress simply ignores them. To fix that and make those images visible in Media Library you'd need to force WP to actually "register" them in its database.

That said, one of these plugins should let you add those already uploaded images to the Media Library:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-from-ftp/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-from-server/

    I hope that helps

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hello sunilr

The point of those plugins (no need to use them both at once, one of them should do the trick) is to "register" those images in the database so yes - if they work and you can see images in the Media Library after using them, you can safely disable and remove them and the images will stay there.

    Best regards,
    Adam
