Activated MarketPress plugin now can't access website, any ideas?

Hello,

Working on http://www.scareylures.com, just uploaded and activated MarketPress (latest version). But, right after I activated MarketPress, it's almost as if the website (the WP installation) just disappeared. Now, all that shows on the page is a blank white screen with an empty HTML body. I can no longer get to the WP login page either.

Current theme in use was the 2010 WP theme. There was another shopping cart solution activated at the time, not sure if that would be related or not with a possible conflict. Don't recall the name of other shopping cart solution now that I can't log back in.

Have you heard of this before? Could a plugin cause that?

I'm going to be checking the hosting account as well once I get access to it.

Thanks,
Mike

    Hello Mike,

Greetings and thanks for posting on the forums and coming back to let us know that its resolved.

Its good that its automatically fixed. However I have a suggestion. Never leave 2 plugins to do same kind of work activated on one site.

i.e. if you have to install a new shopping cart, deactivate the other plugin.

I hope that helps. Please feel free to ask if you have more questions on the same.

    Cheers

    whew! lucky. : )

if that ever happens again after enabling a bad or conflicting plugin, you can FTP or SSH into your server and find the /wp-content/plugins directory. find the specific plugin sub-directory and delete it, or rename the whole /plugins directory to /plugins.disabled or something to disable them all.

Thanks for the added suggestion @fox_jones

That is the best way to troubleshoot things out. On a live site, whenever I have to install any new plugin, I take a backup so if anything bad happens, I can simply restore the site
