WP-admin unaccessable after clone

I did a clone of my site to doc.domain.tld, but the admin area is unaccessable after the clone. What am I missing?

    Hi Anders,

Hope you are doing good today.

I did a clone of my site to doc.domain.tld, but the admin area is unaccessable after the clone. What am I missing?

I checked your website, and I can confirm that the that admin dashboard is not accessible. Can I perform a test clone in your system? Are you able to replicate this issue again? Could you also try disabling the plugins, and then try to preform a clone, and check whether it works?

Please let us know how that goes, so that we could give a closer look. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Anders,

Thanks for granting Support Access. I logged in and investigate the issue. It’s seems like none of your subsite Dashboard is not accessible, so the issue is not with Cloner, rather it’s an issue with your Multisite Configuration. To confirm this, I manually created a subsite and tried to access the Dashboard, still I can’t access that dashboard. To over-confirm, I disabled Cloner temporarily and created a subsite again, still I can’t access that dashboard. So this is surely not because of Cloner, rather it’s happening because of your multisite configuration.

In your last comment, you said “There’s no wildcard set up”, but for creating a *subdomain* multisite, you need to have a wildcard entry in your DNS settings for the domain. You can get step by step idea regarding how to create a subdomain multisite from this article: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-install-and-setup-wordpress-multisite-network/

    In that article, it says:

If you choose subdomains, then you will have to configure wildcard subdomains on your server

So can you please create a wildcard entry in your DNS settings of your domain? You can check this guide to get idea regarding how you can create a wildcard CNAME entry from these article:

Please let us know when you are done with creating a wildcard entry. DNS settings may take upto 72 hours to be propagated worldwide. If everything is done properly, you can access the dashboard of all of your subsites, including those created with cloner. If you still can’t access your subsite dashboards even after adding the wildcard DNS entry, please let us know. We will be glad to investigate further.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
