WP emails died after uninstalling BP

Hello,
Well this is not the first time so I figure someone has experience with this.
I uninstalled BuddyPress and the system/WordPress reg emails do not send anymore. I tried Easy SMTP with the same results.
Any Suggestions?

    @Richard:

    I had this problem and changed the email in Settings to wordpress@mydomain.com, and they started up again.

    I don't know if you want to do that, since you may want the emails to come to a specific email address.

    I just forwarded wordpress@mydomain.com to the email I had there originally, and it worked for me.

    This may not be the solution you're looking for, but it may be a short term fix until you can get it working like you want.

    Is Easy SMTP plugin sending Test email?

    Enable Debug from the general settings section of the plugin, it allows you to see the SMTP debug output on the screen. Let me know what output you are getting.

    Thanks for the reply.
    I can probably skate by till Thursday,
    but after that I will have to reinstall.

    This is not the first time that the email confirmations
    have stopped working after uninstalling BuddyPress.
    I will be more careful about activating that one.

    I'm not as concerned with the Easy SMTP as I am
    getting the confirmations/system emails sending again.

    From the above error message it seems that the SMTP settings are incorrect therefore it could not connect to SMTP host.

    Make sure you have entered the proper details in the SMTP settings.

    Are you getting the test mail sent from Easy WordPress SMTP plugin?
