WP Load Speed is killing the PPC Conversion with Theme

Can anyone help with load speed for a Luvaniz theme?

    Hi michael ,

    Hope you're doing well today!

I made performance test to your website and I think there are some initial things that you may have to look:

    1) Browser Caching and Defer parsing of JavaScript

Enabling Browser caching can improve the page load times. This feature will allow users to save in the files included in your website browser cache.

You can use our Hummingbird plugin to implement these features

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wp-hummingbird/

Other important step is try to move the most of the JS files to the footer or try defer them. However, some files don't work well when moved to the footer, so, you need to make some tests, to check which files can be moved.

Again, our Hummingbird plugin and it's minification feature can help you with this.

    2) Full page cache

Also, I will suggest to add a plugin like WP Super Cache to add a full page cache feature to your website. It can be used alongside with Hummingbird.

    3) Serve scaled images

You have a lot of images that are being resized in HTML or CSS and this is not a good practice. We should use thumbnails with the proper size instead of resizing them. However, I think this is a problem with the theme and to correct this it will envolve changes in the templates code.

I hope this information has been helpful. If I can help you in this or other questions, please let me know!

    Cheers, Luís

    Hi michael ,

    Hope you're doing well today!

Firstly, sorry for the late reply and all the problems it may have caused.

In my previous reply, I just give you some suggestions that may help you to optimize your website and reduce the page load time, actually, I didn't implemented any in your website.

From what I checked, you already have W3 Total Cache that should decreased your page load time. Making a new test in GTMetrix, it still gives a recommendation to "defer javascript". So, I can suggest to try our Hummingbird plugin and try move the scripts to the footer or some other plugin specific to this, like:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/speed-booster-pack/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-deferred-javascripts/

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bj-lazy-load/

Some of these plugins may have similar features as W3 Total Cache (Cache, Minification, etc), just make sure these features are activate in one of the plugins, to avoid conflicts.

Also, deferring javascript can create issues in some features/plugins, so, you may need to check your website to make sure that everything is working properly.

If you need help in implementing this, please, let me know.

    Cheers, Luís
