[WPMU DEV Dashboard] Help with WP Job Manager

I'm trying to set up digitalscot.net as a jobs portal, and am using WP Jobs Manager and 'Capstone' theme to achieve this.
One particular weakness is the Salary field is hardcoded with a drop down list of options, in USD.
The theme author says I can use some code to modify this
I'm not keen on hacking code just to modify such a simple setting, so am wondering what other options I might have?
I am trying this plugin: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wpjm-extra-fields/
but it's giving me an error, saying WP Jobs Manager needs to be installed for it to work, when it already is.
Any ideas on how to fix this, or other better solutions I might adopt to achieve this goal?
Thanks, Neil.

    Hey Neil,

The plugin you linked wasn't updated for 9 months so it most likely isn't compatible with the latest version of WP Jobs Manager.

From that code you shared, it looks to me that it only uses existing hooks and it will not require changing core files of the theme or plugin.

So all you need to do is create a child theme and in its functions.php add that code.
This way you will have your new functionality while still being able to update your theme and plugin without losing that new option.

My suggestion is to use the code provided to accomplish this, searching for a plugin will usually mean that you will get some functionality you don't actually need so the approach above looks like the most viable to me.
