[WPMU DEV Dashboard] Plugins Compatibility / Affiliate Links Broken?

Hey guys.
Recently i joined WPMUDEV and installed the plugins on my website, and also made the changes to improve it's security, performance and others.
My site is a money site, where i have affiliate links.
Since i installed the WPMUDEV, i did notice that my sales decreased.
So, i was wondering if one (or more) of WPMUDED's plugins could somehow change/broke my affiliate links.
I use pretty links plugin to redirect the "pretty link" to my affiliate link thru 307 redirection.
Thanks.

    Hello Renan

WPMU DEV plugins should not interfere with your affiliate plugin. But in wordpress, there is always a possibility of conflict.

Would you please share one of your affiliate link so that I can check from my end?

Also, would you please disable page cache and wait some more days to check if it increases your sales again?

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,
    Ash

    Hello Renan

I have tried to visit that page but it immediately redirects to the home page. Though, after several attempts, I was able to stay on that page but I didn't see any "Clique Aqui e Saiba Mais" in that page.

For my knowledge, how would page cache interfere on the links?

Well, I am not sure either. But page cache may interfere with the page content. Maybe an affiliate link of a user showing a cached content from another page - that's why I asked to check with disabling page cache.

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,
    Ash

    Hi Ash,

Which one of the pages (image 1 or images 2/3) were you redirect to?

Regarding the redirect you faced, i have a plugin (fiat linx) that automatically redirects the user to a landing page (by an afilliate link to the images 2/3) when the user try to go back to the Serp or try to exit my page (my page: https://carreiraeempreendedorismo.com/ideias-negocios-lucrativos/).

The images with "Clique Aqui e Saiba Mais" are down the page. Scroll down at least half way of the page to start seeing the images "Clique Aqui e Saiba Mais".

Regarding the cache, when you say "Maybe an affiliate link of a user showing a cached content from another page", you mean by a affiliate link from other website from other person who also sells the same product as mine?

    Thanks!
    Kind Regards,

    -Renan

    Hello Renan

I was being redirected to Image_2.PNG page.

Regarding the cache, when you say "Maybe an affiliate link of a user showing a cached content from another page", you mean by a affiliate link from other website from other person who also sells the same product as mine?

Not exactly. Well, I am not familiar how affiliate works on your site, but in most of the sites hey use a query variable in the URL and it shows like: http://domain.com/?ref=123 where 123 is the idenifier and it varies from user to user.

Now, due to misconfiguration of caching plugin or any conflict it may happen that query string URLs are cached. Sometimes, in affiliate page the content changed based on the query param (123 in the example here). But if this page is cahced, http://domain.com/?ref=123 or http://domain.com/?ref=456 or http://domain.com/?ref=789 will see the same content and can be functional in same way. That's why we always recommend not to cache query strings URLs.

    Cheers,
    Ash
