Hi,
We're preparing our site for PHP7, and the WPMUdev Dashboard fails PHP7 compatibility check (please see screenshot):[image pos="0"]

Hi M., hope you had a wonderful day.

Thanks for reporting. I'm forwarding your report to our developer right now. I believe, he will come up with a solution very soon.

Please keep in mind, our developers work round the clock and they have to deal with lots of critical issues and other things. So it may take a little while for them to check this and release a fix.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Hey WPMuse,

Hope you are doing good today.

The compatibility issue has been already fixed in the latest version. The logs what you are seeing now is related to backward compatibility, the old function is still present in the plugin, for users who use old version of PHP where they don't have the MySQLi Extension.

In PHP 7 the plugin will run in the newer extension, at the moment there isn't any way in your system to differentiate backwards compatibility code, and hence it throws the same error, but the plugin will make use of the new extension, and should work fine in PHP 7. You'll find the same issue in all the plugins which has support for PHP 7.

I hope this clears your query, please let us know if you still need any further assistance. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hey maga,

Hope you are doing good today.

As mentioned in the previous reply, the mentioned plugins should work fine. What you are seeing is more of warnings, and it doesn't break your website, or the plugins in any way. These functions are present to provide backward compatibility with the older versions of PHP.

You can upgrade to PHP 7 without any issues, if you still have find any issues with these plugins, you can raise this with us in Live Support, so that we could give a closer look. Have a nice day ahead.

    Best Regards,
    Nithin
