YouTube Shortcode in PhP w/ CustomPress Field

I am not a PHP pro at all. Can someone help me fix this code. I am trying to hard code a YouTube shortcode using the field from CustomPress.

Hey Eric,

Am confused on why you need to edit the embed code. When you created the custom field (I assume as a textbox) using custompress, didnt it give you an embed code?

Something like this:

<?php echo get_post_meta( $post->ID, '_ct_text_4f6402fe2e1e2', true ); ?>

Use that in the appropriate file, single.php or page.php (if its a page) within the loop and you should have it working.

Just use the embed code you get from custompress, no need to edit it at all.

That is not what I had in mind but I found a work around.

Here’s why it doesn’t work. In order to embed a YouTube video you either need the embed code or the shortcode for WordPress. If I have a customfield and I input the embed code, there is a bug and it doesn’t accept it. If I just put in the URL it just shows the URL.

What he was asking and what I also need to do is use the CustomPress short code to execute a short code. If I add the shortcode into a custom field txt box, it regurgitates the short code itself and not what the short code is supposed to trigger…

For example… I want to have a Custom Press field for a Contact Form 7 ShortCode… How do I get this to work?
